Default Water in diesel to start with

Three weeks ago the engine electronics light came on performance dropped off etc (engine felt sluggish) on my 56 Vec 1.9(150) Elite checked the manual and it mentioned something about water in the diesel. Checked the filter and drained approx 150-200ml of water out of it.
Seemed to sort the problem. Last night on the way home from work same thing happened same light engine sluggish trouble pull away at junctions. Again drained the filter got a little bit of water out but seemed to fix the problem. Coming home today engine sluggish again but emmision light cam on instead. Anybody any thoughts?

Taking it to local garage tommorrow before I risk a VX dealership.

If its come from your fuel tank you may have some recourse against the fuel retailer, but you'd have to be quick to prove anything.

Water in a fuel storage tank is an easy dip test, but as most forecourts empty their storage tanks fairly quickly you need to act fast. As per a bunch of my previous posts, its a complaint via Consumer Direct (08454 040506) or via their website www.consumerdirect.gov.uk who will forward your details and the retailer details to the relevant officer for urgent inspection.

Additionally as you can imagine many people would have bought the same diesel from the same storage tank...the more complaints the more weight.
1000 people use fuel from the tank in a week, if it had water in it, you'd expect a huge number of recorded complaints from the resultant problems.

I'm not sure where else it could have come from, unless someone else has experienced this problem and has a possible answer?

So far no more water. Garage decided it was an air induction fault. So they've reset all faults for now and we will see if anything comes back. Car feels fine at the moment.
