Came out of the supermarket to find a trolley jammed against the side of the car and a myriad of dings and scrapes of which this is probably the most noticeable...

What is it with some people Apart from the roof and one door, I don't think there's a single panel left on the car that hasn't been 'edited' at some point over the last year. I've got dent-devils coming out (again...) but the damage is spread over a number of panels so it's not going to be cheap.

one of my worst fears that. I try my best to park away from other cars and if i see a car parked at an angle or just thrown into a space i wont park next to it. Nor will i park next to people carriers as they are likely to have a troup of kids unaware that slamming the door into my car will damage it.

I made the mistake of parking at the bottom of a slight slope. I reckon the trolley had been abandoned and (it was a windy day) had rolled into the car.

i try to park next to bmw top of the rage audis ect thay tend not to bang your car and if thay do thay can to pay for the damage with cash

There are a lot of things I look out for when I park to avoid getting dings and scratches:

1) Park away from everyone else if possible

2) Never park next to a car with child seats in the back or a disabled badge in the window, because they'll open the doors wide for access

3) Never park near a trolley park at supermarkets

4) Sounds horrible, but never park next to a shed of a car because they invariably don't care about it. I watched someone in an old banger whack my car with his door once... never again.

Feeling for ya big time, most people do NOT care about there cars much these days even new ones. I park what feels like different districts away from the shops I want. The misses thinks I'm hinting that she need the exersise LOL.
