Thoughts on Latest Child Bollards.

neilrj, I think your missing the point!

If you stick these in streets we naturally start to get customised to them being there, where now you would be very observed and any children lurking behind cars etc keep you alert.

how long before people start drawing péníses and what not on it? as said though how long before people think real kids are bollards

Drive everywhere thinking everything is going to jump in front of you, you should never get accustomed to anything ever, that is lazy and dangerous.

Oh that was a child I hit in the middle of road - I thought it was a bollard!

im not sayin neil that people will see a child in the middle of the road and think its a bollard, im saying kids waiting to cross the road, driver might not take as much notice as he sees "kids" stood by the side of the road everywhere waiting to cross

Can understand the point about you would "get used to seeing them there", but can't agree that this would have any detrimental effect on a decent driver's reactions should a live child step onto the road.
Anyway, the black one looks like satan himself
