Default Thoughts on Latest Child Bollards.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, in which case mods can delete.

Just wondered what your thoughts are on the new child bollards thats being positioned near schools etc.

hrmm...Yes... sorry..lol it is the Daily Mail again.

I notice our PC society are playing safe again.

Surely.. they will be replacing the white one in certain parts of the country, and will be wearing burka's in other parts, we dont want to offend anyone do we..

    A very good point indeed.

"Sorry I killed the kid your honour I thought he was just a bollard"

frightening thought is'nt it. They dont seem to think these out do they, yet you spotted this one big fatal flaw right away.

And of course to please the Moslem area's the Burka'a will make them look just like a normal black bollard.

Stupid idea, Flashing High Visibility Beacons are still better and safer IMO.

Not quite a bollard, but my local council - Tameside (east of Manchester) have erected six foot tall pencils ??? and have painted red and yellow duck foot-prints on the corners of roads that are about 1/4 mile away from the nearest school...

Wasting my hard earned cash again!!!

    What's that all about!??

    Hi mushy2007

    Eh?
Just don't run down anything that looks like a kid, be it a bollard or a kid.
It really is quite easy, don't drive on pavements and you wont hit a bollard
(or a kid who looks like one), and if something is in the road don't run it over.

They make you think the first time you see them, then, as others have said.........above. It could be a child, you think its a bollard!!!

There's lots of them around the schools in our area: as a professional driver, I know the schools are there, but would others??

    Hi John CS

Why would you ever be driving on the pavement anyway for it to actually make a difference?
Do you like crashing into bollards and you think this is some evil plan to stop you having fun?
Treat anything on the road edge as a danger and you'll be fine
