Default Sat Nav Q re MY06 Cars

Gents.. I wonder if one of you could help out, as I can't seen to get a sensible answer out of my dealer!.. My 53 plated Elite has the colour sat nav option, which although not a massive temptation, (in terms of buying criteria), when I was looking for a Vec, has proved very handy since I've had it!.. The biggest frustration with it I find is that it won't accept postcode destinations. The routing is basically geared around keying in a street to street junction, or a street number (sometimes). In reality, I find this a bit pants to use

So..Heres the dilemma.. I'm pondering getting a new SRI 1.9CDTI estate with the exterior pack and maybe the Nav. Does the latest Nav support postcode destinations?.. If it doesn't, I'm thinking I might just get the XP speced car and buy a Tom-Tom afterwards.

Any thoughts or comments that spring to mind, most greatfully received. Also anyone got a pic of an '06 SRI estate with XP

I actually find the SAT nav very good, TOMTOM only allows 5 postcodes anyway (may have changed now), others do take the full 7.

Also the colour screen is cool for all the other incar features inc. warning operations like bulbs as it shows the information pictures in colour. Would also help resell.

I had the NCDC 2015 in my 04 reg SRi (Colour) and although the CD70 I have now is not post code usable, it is way superior to the old system.

    Get it my man!!

Thanks Matt.. appreciate the feedback. I'd be funding the car through work and if its better I might just go for it as to be honest it only makes the difference of about £5 a month on the overall deal. I'll have to see if I can find a car with the unit fitted and have a play.

    Cheers

    Rich.

Latest TomTom (5) does allow full seven digit postcodes. I've never used the Vx SatNav, but from comments I've heard from people that have it, they generally feel the TomTom is much better.

Everything about the new CD70 is better, the screen is wider, the colours are better, the map details are better.

I like the Tom Tom's but like everything els, I like things to be integrated into the car properly.

As the CD70 is colour on the Vectra, this also details all the other items on the screen in colour.

My Signum has the Nav as standard(not colour screen though) but I don't think it's as good as TomTom(even it's not perfect), although the vauxhall Nav is ok and will get you to a destination
