    confused Cdc40?

    Hi,

I've just joined the forums and been reading through a few posts but as i am new to the Vauxhall world (previously a SEAT driver) I am unsure what stereo i should be expecting when my new 06 Vectra Design CDTI [150] turns up.

I have seen CDC40 and CDC40 Opera versions and I'm unsure of how I will be able to identify which one i have.

I am looking at Bluetooth options as I'm always in the car and I currently have a Sony MEX-BT5000 unit in my old car that utilises the handsets phonebook etc etc!

I'm possibly being impatient and all will be revealed but any "heads up" would be gratefully received.

    Darren

The CDC40's have various options....no-one seems to know what the Opera refers to...
Also some come with a DAB unit and some don't...

The cdc40 is Vauxhall's stab at providing a radio with other audio source options...radio, cd, mp3 and dab...
    Bit of the proverbial pot-luck!!

I believe but have never seen the really basic "Cassette" playing model called the CC20 ??

The cd30 was launched as the base unit CD player...(some offered with mp3)

The unit intended for use with the "car-phone" was the CD50 also as rare as rocking horse poo!!

And of course the flagship sat-nav unit was the CD70 with the option of a colour screen providing very simple looking colour maps etc

In short then, there are more variations of screen, head-unit and peripheral components than there are breeds of dogs....loads of em.

I have a CDC40 OPERA in my 06 Astra Design. It has D.A.B. and an inbuilt six disc autochanger and has a higher wattage output than the other standard radios. This radio, which was a £450 option in my Astra also came with better spec speakers and is the best standard radio I have had. My 08 Vectra Elite has the CD70 NAVI with a colour screen, which I would only rate as O.K..

The CDC40 (non OPERA) was also an option in 2006 but was not a D.A.B. unit.
