    Default key fault wierd

ok my key buttons stopped working this afternoon so replaced the battery and still nothing, got the spare and all was well and then after work the spare did exactly the same and the other began working again. so all in all one working key at a time but never together. just wondering if anyone else as had this? iam just worried in case i end up leaving work and end up stranded in the car park

    cheers in advance

A flat keyfob battery won't prevent the car from starting. All it will do is prevent the doors from remotely unlocking.

You can still unlock the doors with the key in the drivers door lock but the alarm will sound - which can be muted by putting the key in the ignition.

I take it you've tried the resync procedure as mentioned in the handbook?

To reprogramme, put the key in the ignition, turn until you get the dash lights, then press the fob buttons. If successful, the central locking will activate

There are one of two methods.

It says the following in my 2007 handbook.

"After a battery change, unlock door with key in lock, see page 69. Inserting the key into the lock synchronises the radio remote control."

The other method is to put the key in the ignition, turn till you get the dash lights, then press either of the fob buttons within 30 seconds. The C/L will activate if its worked.
