    Default dimming rear view mirror

    as title been out driving and noticed a rould,yellow light illuminated under the rear view mirror anyone one know why this is lit up

    its to brighten up ure dash , it only comes on in dark

    ambiant lighting i think thats its called but you cant really notice it in town imo

    You're lucky yours was working when you got the car, mine wasn't; eventually found the fuse was missing, can only guess it was never fitted at the factory as when speaking to previous owner he had never even noticed it had this type of mirror!!

    lol i love the auto dimming mirror and i to wondered what the light was for , can only notice it really when no street lamps around

    Driving back from Cornwall through the night, my misses noticed it on our car.

    She thought I had the interior light on.

    Must of been the first time i've driven on roads with no street lights in the dark.

    Good little feature though.

    It's called 'Indirect Night Lighting'. It illuminates the centre console in an orange light when it's dark, thus making it easier to see things.

    I love this feature in mine, reminds me of the old mans old 5 series BMW that had it, but the centre console was a bit more interesting on his lol.
