Default Driving. Not doing any for some time.

After a chat with various people in white coats (make of that what you will ) it looks like it may be longer than expected until i can get behind the wheel. The Cresta will definitely have to go now as i cant justify it sitting on the drive going nowhere and im going to chauffered around everywhere. I havent even driven our Vectra yet .
Gutted, cheesed off, bored, and a few others that would be filtered.
Im being taken to the coast this afternoon for a spot of Bass fishing. hopefully it will cheer me up a bit.

Oh joy upon ****ing joy. My piece of **** Vectra that i bought from a trader 1 week ago will not start. Not only have i had all the previously posted problems, but now the poxy thing wont turn over. The dash lights stay bright so the battery seems ok, the display shows numerous faults with fog and main lights, the radio turns on and off as it feels like it amongst other things. im not happy and im rejecting the car. (have been in talks with the trader for a couple of days but he's an arrogant ******** and will not give in) I am absolutely fuming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very sorry to hear this matey, I wish you a quick and full recovery.

I've had a few periods over the last few years when I was stopped from driving, usually for 3 months after suffering heart attacks. The last time after cardio surgery about 3 years ago. Luckily I've never had any issues whatsoever behind the wheel, in fact 2 heart attacks occurred while in bed, (and no.. I was not up to any hanky panky..lol) Apparently more heart attacks occur while the persons in bed asleep than at any other time so doctors told me.
Which may explain why I dont sleep so well these days...

My biggest concern is being stopped from driving permanently, which may occur of course if I were to have another attack in the future. Luckily I never get stressed at all behind the wheel, even when some nutter does something silly. In fact I often go for a hours drive simply because I find it so relaxing and enjoyable.

I've been driving since the age of 16, bikes then cars, I'm 66 now so the thought of not being able to drive is too aweful to comtemplate. Though obviously I would have to manage somehow if it happened. The wife has her car so I would have to rely on her more. (Terrible Driver..lol) Only joking.
I still drive around 16k to 18k every year, have plenty of holidays, including about 4 months in france, so driving is a big part of my life.

You have my sympathies matey, and AIS lets hope you recover quickly.

    Does your partner/wife drive?

Thanks cameron. Yes my wife drives and she is a good driver bless her. Im such a car nut and not driving is like cutting my legs off, i hate it. I use my classic car as much as possible and thats the car i miss driving the most, i enjoy modern cars but the nostalgia was lost in the 80's when everything was jelly moulds and fwd.
Like you i always had motorcycles and cars from the age of 16, im 41 now, and i do enjoy driving most of the time. I do get road rage sometimes though when drivers tailgate me. Driving alone ill brake test them but when my wife and kids are in the car i tend to blow a gasket or twelve...

if you are not happy with a garage and are speaking from experience which would assist and prevent others from having a similar experience then "name and shame" others on here do it if they have a negative experience with dealers and garages and likewise if there are postives then post them as well - you are speaking from experience so go for it mate - vent your frustrations as they say a problem shared is a problem halved
