Default Got it. Its in my possession now

Test drove the car before purchase. 150 cdti on 67000 miles. Last three service history stamps at 20 40 and 60k miles.

On testing this 150 cdti versus the one at the vauxhall dealer on 40000 miles, one noticable difference.

The 150 at the dealership flew.

This one had a sort of turbo lag feeling before it picked up. 1st gear felt particularly lifeless and sluggish.

    EGR? Discuss please...

Also noticed it was bought from a main dealer VX Arnold Clark. Been serviced through them everytime at required time.

The book states 5w 30 oil should be in the engine.

They have put 10w 40 in at every service since it was new!

I'm tired so forgive me.... is it the one that you have that's a bit sluggish.. or did you buy the flier..?

If you have the sluggish one, then it could be a number of things, EGR, Inlet Manifold, 3rd Injector etc.....

Try the easy thing first - the boost sensor. I'm not sure exactly what it does but when I followed advice from here and cleaned mine, it made quite a difference in just this part of the rev range. Not that it was that bad before, just better afterwards.

Cleaning that and then trying the car out I think made a bigger difference than that from subsequently cleaning the EGR valve the same day.

    To clarify.

I bought the one that was non main dealer and felt a little more sluggish.

That boost sensor sounds a good start.

On buying it, my to do list included cleaning the egr and inlet manifold, so ill add the boost sensor to number one on the order of work to do.

Great solid drive apart from that....good choice.. 42mpg around town!
