Just wondering, did you buy your Vectra because its what you wanted? Were you looking at anything and a Vectra came along at the right price? Does it just "do the job" and thats all that matters?
If not a Vectra, what would you like?

well we neede a estate.. as we have 3 small childen.. and its one of the few where i could have all the stuff for normal driving in the back.. but when the last comes out of a tram i think its called its not realy nessasary.. but most saloons or hatch (also insignia) i dont fit in the back.. so wont be swapped for like 5 years to come.. but we also looked at Mazda, Suzuki, Toybota anything large.. (the missus didnt want a Omega Estate mv6 thou )
bought mine as i have always liked the look of them and got the money together so i took the plunge
I bought mine purely to get into a newer car, I was looking for one for a friend and started doing the 2.2 petrol vs 2.0 diesel comparisons, in hindsight I wish I'd not done it, I had an Omega barge that had space and class feel, and ended up in a car that wasn't built that well mechanically and could never beat the Omega on owner satisfaction, on the plus side the Vec C is built to save you in a crash as I found out, and she was better on tyres than most other cars I've owned, right now I'm hoping VX will retool the VXR8 into a new Omega with the 3.0CDTi lump in it and offer it for around 25k new.
Yes; it was a reasonably large car which could carry adult passengers in comfort, had a decent turn of speed and with taller gearing than the equivalent spec. diesel SRi Astra (which I also test-drove) it was far more relaxed in the way it could be driven.
I do feel a small pang every time I see a CDTi-badged SRi drive by
It was a toss up with a Mondeo, the Vectra won and the missus picked it,she didn't do too bad,so answer the question i'd say its what we wanted........
Was starting to like the C's when I kept seeing more on the road and needed a replacement for the B, saw mine on the forecourt so thought wouldn't hurt to ask, thinking I wouldn't get it and strangely here it is
Because there weren't any diesel Signums around at the time, and I needed a new car that week...
2 years later, I'm now looking for one...
Finished paying for the 3 door 306 just as our daughter was born so started looking for a 5 door. I also needed a large boot and Vauxhalls have always been in the family so the Vec was perfect. It was just under a year old and cost 10k with about 10k on the clock. If I has known about the Signum at the time I would have probably got that, bu I;m happy with the Vec and is still going strong 4 and a bit years later.
Me and the Mrs went out looking for a Diesel Estate Auto, as we got a big dog (English Bloodline German Shepherd) and looked out Vec C's and nearly bought one, took a manual one out for a test drive, then when we got back to the garage, saw a 2.0T Signum.
The Vec was on a 55 plate, the signum on an 03 plate, but they were the same price. Didnt even test drive the Siggy, just bought it as we both liked the shape and at the time the fact that not many were about.
So went for Diesel Estate Auto, bought Manual Hatch Petrol.....
But my god, am I glad
