    Default Dpf has packed up

Yesterday I got the Engine Management Light flick on again and limp mode kicked in and started to wonder if I had DPF problems again as mentioned in a previous thread involving Arnold Clark in Winsford.
Anyway I booked the car into MPG this morning where Ian found that it was the DPF causing the fault and so tried to engage a stationary regen of the DPF but this failed confirming that the DPF has died.
A quick price guide off Ian was around the £600 for the new DPF plus labour so I am hoping that my warranty is intact and is now booked in at Grassmere in Crewe.
Has any one else had this problem or does any one know what sort of cost this might involve and does any one have a DPF they are wanting to sell which is in new or as new condition.

    Andy,

glad you got your car sorted and its all ok

sorry you feel that people did'nt help but you may notice during the busy periods that the threads can drop off the front screen in a as little as a minute so regular bumps needed during busy periods of traffic... one bump in 2 days = bottom of the screen

if you needed assistance maybe you could have put HELP in the title rather than DPF packed up ....stating you know the cause rather than you need assistance will more than likely cause people to pass by the thread rather than read it if its something they have knowledge on

warranties are great and they DO cover most things and i'm GLAD in YOUR CASE it did

not a moan and dont shoot the messenger - if you need help posting things like thanks for the help NOT - wont get you it in the future

    regards

    Dez

    Hi Dez
I was just surprised that I got no responce as quite a few members know what problems I have had just lately with this issue and with being a member for a few years it just seemed odd.
For those members that remember my problems with the DPF and Arnold Clark, my Warranty is intact so that proves that a certain Service Manager was talking a load of poop.
Grassmere who sorted my car out today were really good and also gave my car a full health check as it was going on there system and all was ok except I need 4 new tyres, so now looking at replacing the F1 GSD's with somthing else, and so far Falken are looking good

I've got 4 falken 452 on my Signum at the moment, seem ok although I'm not sure if its the Fact there XL rated but they do seem quite HARD and I certainly feel the bumps in the road.
Glad you got you previous warranty issue sorted.

Im looking at the 912 but they all seem to be XL and I dont know waht to do about it. Will the ride really suffer if XL are fitted and do you really notice the difference

Obviously the sidewalls are tougher on the XL to be rated to take the extra weight. The 452 seem to offer good performance though. Although I'll be trying something else next toyo get good reviews.
