    Default Best road you've driven?

Today I was in Buxton and drove home along the A537 to Macclesfield, Amazing road! Beautiful bends with gorgeous scenery to match. As a bonus the road was very very quiet. Only surprise was a Speed camera van by the Cat & Fiddle!

Only issue was brake fade, as I was coming into Macclesfield I could feel my brakes just wern't there! I wound the window down and could smell the brakes. No matter how hard I pressed the pedal it just wasn't giving the same stopping power and getting worse. After giving some time to cool down the braking performance was back, scared the life out of me at the time mind.

Will get the brakes checked over on Monday to make sure alls running good but never really given the brakes such a hard time before, was certainly a wake up call. Starting to think about the 314mm or VXR brake upgrade!

Can reccomend the a run in the car from Fort Bill (Fort William) to Inverness, only downfall is it is full of caravans at this time of year. Nice drive though! Might even see Nessie??

TBH, even without having ridden or driven that road and knowing it only by reputation via bike sites and magazines, I'm not surprised there was a camera unit up there on an summer weekend .. perhaps the police presence was why it was quiet

WRT your brakes, when was your fluid last changed?

I quite enjoy some of the back roads across the North Yorks Moors - B- and C-Roads, mostly. The Stokesley-Helmsley "TT" is nice, but overly-popular. Teesdale is enjoyable too, as are the roads around Kielder and Hawick in the Borders.

    Couple i like...
A30 from the A303 to Stockbridge (Or A30 something) Its about a 12 mile straight with hills like the roads in the states.. very fun and no cameras..

The road from Beverley to Scarborough up via Staxton Hill. Good fun indeed if you like twists and turns.

Salisbury to Bournemouth.. good in the evenings or off season when its not full of traffic.

All I can think of off the top of my head! I'm heading down to top gears best driving road in 2 weeks in italy (passo dello stelvio) so will report back on that
