Default 2.2 Direct Fuel Pump relay

My uncle had his car on Tech 2 and it was diagnosed as the fuel pump relay. Any chance you know where it is. The car runs fine and then decided to stop with EM light coming on.

Not sure if it is the relay as it works fine and then stops where normally if a relay is bust it wont work full stop. TIA

PM replied mate. I'm still having trouble finding it, Google searches bring up in many cases its on/by the pump (under black rubber disk under back seats) The Directs as you know run 2 pumps, the one in the tank which is electrical and the cam operated one on the rail. Is it defo not a HP pump issue?

You know Plasma might be a good un to ask.

Had a look under the seat and there was nothing there bar some wires and pipes. The car will run fine and then thEM light will come on and the engine will die with no prior warning, he hasn't had limp mode yet just cuts out then has to wait a few minutes for it to re-start.

The reader never came up with a code, it said the fault was:

Fuel pump relay, low speed fan.

If that makes anyone the wiser.

fuel pump relay for the pick up pump in the tank is situated on the rear of the rec in the boot you need to unbolt the rec and have a look on the rear i think it is red from memory ........

Thanks for all the help guys, he's decided to go for the fuel pump as that seams like the more likely cause.
