Default Regrettably, bye bye to my Vectra

After only just over 2 months of ownership I'm getting rid of my vectra due to 2 big cost problems in such a short space of time. It's all working ok now so thought I'd get shut of it before anything goes wrong with it. It's a 55 plate facelift 40k mile 1.9 CDTi SRi in silver, full vauxhall service history although it's due a service now. Anyway I did a straight swap at a ford dealers for a... wait for it... (don't laugh lol) a 57 plate black Ford SportKA SE 1.6. It's quite nice actually, still got 18 months warranty and only done 9011 miles. Thought I'd keep it for a year and save up for something possibly even get a brand new car and pay cash and part ex the KA. So am hoping for 18 months cost free motoring for now and will get rid of the KA at the end. It's a shame cos I really like my Vectra, quite comfy and doesn't look half bad either. It's just the lost time at work with it being off the road for over a week, I lost a weeks pay, as getting public transport from where I live is not an option. Anyway I'm told the car I'm getting is a bit gay and girly but if I can get 18 months trouble free driving than I'm having the last laughs hehe. Wish me luck )

My Dad did help me out mate, he didn't have too but he did. Anyway it's more to do with I just don't have faith in the car now, as much as I still like it. I need a dependable car thats less complex than a vectra for now and is cheap, which is why I got the sportka, I reckon I got a good deal to be honest. It's done 30k less than my vectra and is 2 years newer. I won't be having it forever, but regardless the sportka is a fun little thing, and no I wouldn't EVER have the streetka lol. They are a bit girly, but each to their own, I'd never knock a bloke if he had one though.

On paper the Ka should be less likely to go wrong, we shall soon see lol

what went wrong with your vectra? must have been something REALLY bad to swap it for a Ford KA
but yeah, i know how annoying it is when you can't rely on a motor. you lose faith in it, then it's time to get rid of.

The coil springs on the front needed doing in June, then the alternator went last week and kept me off work for a week lol. £498 for the alternator and new battery, £120 to get it towed to the garage to be fixed, because my breakdown cover didn't have homestart, and lost a weeks wages too, don't get paid in my job if I don't go in or pull a sicky lol

I'll still come here from time to time though

Oh dear, you know the SportKa is something of a girly car, and it's only a very small further step from buying one to sitting down to go for a wee wee.

Oh well you'll be back soon enough !
