Default Anyone help me please legal situation.

I got my veccy sri about 4-5 month ago ive only just twigged on after looking at some dealer pics of my car....I noticed that the pic showing the interior is the sri seats in leather(but there now elite seats) you may say maybe a library photo??? but when i picked the car up the passanger side wireing harness was disconnected and now a bolt is loose on the drivers side seat. what can i do regards this....

Would love to go back to vauxhall and get the original seats put back into it.

Cheers for your help in advance

What where the seats when you viewed the car and agreed to purchase.. were they the elite seats or were they the SRi??

You will be on dodgy ground if you can't definatly remember which were fitted.. If you agreed to purchase the car and can prove that the car deffo had the SRi seats in at the time you agreed then you have a slim chance of getting the dealer to re-instate them, they have prob fitted them to another car that has subsequently been sold..you could press them for some sri seats stating that the car's seats were changed AFTER they had entered into a contract with you to purchase the car as displayed.

If you can't prove that the Elite seat weren't already fitted then you have no hope of redress against the dealer as the car's are sold as seen, not against the book spec..

I don't doubt for a moment that the seats have been changed, the poor workmanship shouts that something is amiss, but after this time you have very little chance of getting them changed( unless you have concrete proof).. They may well claim that this is something that has happened in the elapsed months since you purchased the car..

I'm afraid that without a definate ability on your part to say if the car had the correct seat's when the deal was struck, the chances are slim to non-existant..

I've no idea how this would be treated under Australian law and even less about English law but anyway...

Perhaps it might be worth considering this from a safety point of view. If your seats aren't mounted correctly they may be unsafe. If the wiring harnesses are disconnected then things like side airbags or seat belt pre-tensioners may be rendered inoperable. Even if you can't prove that the seats have been substitued, you may be able to show that you've been sold an unsafe car.

If the wiring connector for the passenger seat was disconnected then the side air-bag would not be working, and may still not thanks to CANbus fussyness. The whole air-bag system could be affected by battery being on with one airbag disconnected - best get it looked at.

Please tell me it wasn't a Network Q car that was delivered in such an unsafe way, original seats or not?
