Default Snowfoam, Is it realy worth it?

Been umming and ahing as to whether I can justify the expense of buying a lance & the foam, and as to whether it just adds another task in the cleaning of my car?, i.e. if you foam it then rinse it, then wash it?
Also how much would it cost for a lance & the foam?
Does the lance fit on a standard hose? or would I need to buy a pressure washer?( more expense? )
I was thinking, if it is so good, then why dont manufacturers like AutoGlym or Meguires make them? seems odd to me?
    sorry for the long questions!

Hi Peter ,there are many that love their snowfoams....but i personally think that they are a waste of time ,especially on a heavily soiled car,you still have to wash it as normal,so I really dont see the point of messing up my front lawn

Waits for the pro foamers to have their say

I always sonwfoam mine. But to be honest, I don,t think it does a lot. It might soften the dirt, and then when you "hose" the snowfoam off it takes some of the dirt with it.
Be ineresting to hear other reply,s to this.

Foam is best used on a well waxed car. Lifts and softens most dirt. Best practice is to power hose off after 5-10 minutes.

To be honest if you're not that into cleaning cars or detailing then don't bother.

Using snowfoam as a pre wash is there to protect the paint from being scratched by any large bits of dirt that are clinging to your car that you drag around when washing with your mitt.

So a word of warning...if you have had your paint corrected in some form and are just washing it (even if it's the 2 bucket method) when it's heavily soiled then you are undoing all the hard work that went into correcting it

probibly one of the best reasons ive heard for using one IMO ........
BUT still will not sway me into buying one,I find that a gentle power wash will remove most if not all the damaging stuff .

I can answer why Meguiars don't do a Snowfoam (at least the views of Meguiars UK). They simply regard it as unnecessary.

I agree with Parsco though. If you've paid for your car to be machine polished or done it yourself then anything that reduces the chances of not putting swirls back onto the car is a good thing. That's why I use it but I know plenty of people who don't and still have outstanding paintwork on their cars.
