Do ALL VX Cars have a DMF Fitted. (Petrols also)

I understand why they fit a DMF to diesel engined cars. ie. to help smooth out any torsional oscillations or vibrations etc from the engine.

Are they also fitted to the 1.8vvt which is in my Insignia for example. ?

Why do they need to fit them to petrol engined cars, for the same reason I assume.

I believe they have them as well, just to make them a bit smoother.
