Default Another not very happy bunny

Been a Veccy owner three weeks, joined forum after purchasing a 2006 1.9 CDTI 150 bhp 70.000 on clock. Loved it for first two weeks, was looking forward to trying out some of the superb how to's. took the car out last weekend and noticed judder and noise whilst clutch in. Checked out forums, which led me to believe prob was DMF. phoned up dealer who I purchased it from (150 miles away) and managed to get it booked in to local dealer. have had a couple of days wait for them to take it into the local VX dealer to get their opinion and then get an assessor in to come in and come to the same conclusion that I already had. (Thanks to all the info on the site), now waiting to see if it will be agreed to replace under warranty.
P.S. Dealers have been great so far, just hoping warranty won't be rejected, otherwise I may not be a veccy owner much longer if I have to replace under 30 no quibble. Not sure if I want to go through all this hassle again!! P.P.S if they agree to replace under warranty should I replace the clutch at same time?

I've had my Jan '06 registered Signum since Jan this year (bought with 75,000miles now on 82,000). Recently had the spanner light came on due to a faulty particulate filter pressure sensor. Dropped the car in at the stealers who checked it out, confirmed the sensor was at fault and that it was covered by the warranty. Thankfully, whilst they had the vehicle they checked it over and identified a noise from the clutch/gearbox. They advised that the DMF needed replacing. A guy from the warranty company checked out the car this morning and gave them the go ahead :-).
The stealers say the total bill is just over £1000 (max limit per claim on my warranty).... makes me awfully glad I paid £700 for the warranty. I'm gonna try for the n/s/f coil spring the stealers identified as broken as these should also be covered by my warranty.
The stealers also asked me if I wanted to replace the clutch at he same time... problem is they quoted £374!!! I declined, I would expect to get at least another 30k if not more out of the clutch before it goes. That should do at least another couple of years. My friends a mobile mechanic who will get me the clutch at trade prices and will only charge a couple of hundred quid labour.

My dmf is phuqed as well. 120,000 miles 2.0d LS
dealers quoted £239 for the genuine clutch, and then said i'd get trade club so that brought it down to £194.....parts only.

They do but they quoted for a complete clutch kit (think this included a piston or maybe slave cylinder plus the thrust bearing) so that was a price for parts only, labour would be covered by the replacement of the DMF under warranty. The clutch itself should be around half of that if not a little less but if it's only gonna cost me around £400 to get it done in a few years, I could do without spending the cash now.
