    Default Egr valve......

Had a quote from CMS to fix a sticking EGR valve and replace inlet manifold and swirl valve. Quoted me £715 which sounds expensive to me (suprise suprise). Does anyone know if this work is essential or if £715 sounds right?

I paid 215GBP yesterday to have just the EGR valve replaced at my regular garage if that helps in your breakdown of the total bill. They told me it wasn't essential but was recommended. They're a good set of guys. Can't comment on the other bits

Did you not try and clean your EGR first? You could have looked at the How 2 section which would have shown you how and saved your hard earned £215. If they also said it was not essential then it must have been working okay? So once again why on earth did you have it replaced?

    You must have DEEEP pockets.
