Whilst I hope to give the car a good clean and wax before the PVS, what is the best method of cleaning it at the pod ? what will most of you be doing to your cars when you get there I don,t want to let the side down...

best thing to is Ed, find a jetwash nice and local b4 you go into the show, give it a good blast to clean off the road grime, then use quick detailer once in the cmaping area to clean off the more stubborn muck. Then you can maybe give a quick coat of polish if you like. The main thing for me on the saturday when I get down there is to get the muck off, all the rest can be done on the stand within an hour, like Nick says, a quick blast of detailer on the day will shift the overnight muck and then a wee squirt of polish and touch up the plastics.

    Hi guys,

Ian......you mention "Then give it a quick coat of POLISH"

If you have waxed the car DO NOT POLISH it as this will remove the wax and the sealer if you have applied that.........a Quick detailer will be perfect and a spray wax if you like

Remember if it's been sealed and/or waxed DO NOT use polish!!!!!

i think thats what he means bryan. Its just a case of slipping back into the old polish and go days of AG SRP lol.

PS Bryan... have you tried poorboys QD+? i thought it was a QD but its more like spray wax. Imo, it comes off very nice and im prefering it to spray wax. Give it a try if you can find some.

    Andy,
The QD+ has been rebranded QW+, I didn't try the old version but I've got the new version. Like you say goes on and off easily. Not too sure about the finish though. I don't think I'll be buying another bottle, might try something else. At the moment I'm trying PB Spray & Gloss as a QD and its very good, especially when spritzing your towel prior to drying the car.

ive tried the poorboys spray and gloss (the green stuff?) and although it shined up ok, i found it streaked quite a bit, so tend to find myself reaching for the trusty meguiars QD's.

I agree about the finish of poorboys QD+. It shines up quite nicely but i think im losing some of the depth and wet look i had when it was detailed. Before PVS Im going to go over the car with #80 machine glaze (using my smartool) and recoat it with #21 and Nattys blue to hopefully bring the depth back.

Either is a good wax Paul and will finish of the first two stages of the DC system you use. Nattys is slightly cheaper than P21s.

If applied right, ie apply one panel at a time, and wipe off, they both come off with ease.

Agree with Andy I do ( sounds like Master Yoda !)
Both great waxes, possibly Natty's has the edge casue you can get the blue version for darker colours. Both good value for money as well.
