3rd Injector Wiring-CDTI 150

Chaps,

How can I tell if the 3rd Injector/Wiring is on the CDTI 150?

Its just been for a service and that didnt pick anything up so am I safe?

Current sysmptoms:
- low power between 1-2k rpm;
- EML showing as EGR Valve on Tech2.

Already cleaned EGR Valve and inlet manifold entry and boost sensor.
Light came back on-EGR Valve again so replaced for 2nd hand unit that has allegedly been re-wrked by Vx.
Now have real low power between 1-2k rpm.

Been serviced yesterday and EGR Valve on again when Tech2'd.

It doesnt misfire or stall....

Can it be the 3rd Injector wiring? Is there a visible inpection I can do?

Can't always tell mate. Sometimes they are loose but it's more a trial and error mate

How do I check if its loose....do I have to physically "wiggle" it about... (no jokes please)!

Give it a wiggle first but I think you'll have to take it off and I think you can get some sort of electrical contact spray to clean it up maybe also try keeping it tight with a cable tie and see how it goes

When it happens to me, the car shudders violently @ 70mph + until I take my foot off the accelerator.

If you are constantly getting EGR valve errors despite replacing the unit it might be egr valve cabling or sensor(is there one?) thats screwed up and not the valve itself...

the other thing is, a reconditioned part is only reconditioned for 1 reason... it WAS broken... might still be!

Mine got egr fault codes and in the end it turned out it was the air mass meter, changed that and cured it,aparently faulty air mass meters give a egr fault code.

TBH---I was thinking the same thing, but thought it were worth a punt @ £25'ish squids! Have now bought a new one from fleebay----lets see what this does!

What a load of dogs danglies Vx have made! Cant even get their fault codes right!

Problem is, if the airbox mod, the K&N panel filter and the NEW EGR Valve dont sort it, like am I forking out for a new air mass/flow meter! Its one thing after another!

try cleaning the contacts on the mass meter first.... if there is dirt in the connector then the impedance accross the unit will be too high and will make the ECU think it's broken even if the unit itself is fine.

all you have to do is spray some isopropyl alcohol or some circuit board cleaner (available at halfrauds for about £4 a tin) into the connector (on the cable side not the MAF side!) then pulg it in, take it out several times so the connectors 'scratch' each other clean. leave it disconnected for 10 mins for the cleaner to evaporate then plug it back in again. best to do this with the battery disconnected to make sure the contact cleaner does not cause any shorts accross the MAF pins.
