    Hello there,

    I'm James, I live in Chesterfield Derbsyhire and I am the owner of a 58 reg Vectra 1.9CDTi 150 Exclusiv Estate - got it new at the end of February.

    The car is a private hire vehicle (minicab) and is currently with the Vauxhall dealer (Bristol Street Motors) to have a juddering mis-fire sorted out. This is the fourth time they have had the car - it has languished there for 17 days since the end of June. So far they've replaced the DMF, the fuel injectors and part of the wiring to the injectors, but the problem is still there.

    Firstly, James. Bad news about the Vec mate, sorry to hear you are having so many problems.

    With the misfire problem, it appears that the main cause is the injector issue as this forum kindly explains, maybe you should point the dealers to this website?

    Hope you get it sorted soon with little £££ and little more fuss!!

    Hi and welcome to Vec-c..............sorry your having problems,as said it is usually a fault with the 3rd injector

    Thanks for the support guys - I'll sort out a piccie once the beast returns.

    I'm assuming that it shouldn't be the third injector problem, as the car was new this year. Having said that, the stealer has already replaced all the injectors and the "wiring" (I assume that means the faulty third injector thingy) and it's made no difference - in fact, if anything, it's worse.

    Took it back there yesterday after a particularly hairy run out towards Mansfield. This time the engine management light came on, and the techie at the stealer managed to get a code off it - and promptly dismissed it! He said he would sort out the fault it was displaying but he didn't think it would fix the overall problem. I was slightly happier when I found out that he had experienced the problem first hand, and mine isn't the only one he's looking at currently with the same problem.

    Should also have said - hasn't cost me anything as it's still under warranty (less than 11,000 miles so far since early March). All it's costing is £120 per day they have it in lost earnings (so just over £2K so far) - still, look on the bright side, I'm not spending much on diesel at the moment......

    well hoopefully they can get it sorted real soon,,,,,,,,,,,,nothing worse then having a new car and the garage have it longer than you ..
    If not injectors ,maybe EGR valve,seems to be another known fault

    They just called to say I can collect - and they've replaced the EGR Valve!

    Time will tell.......
