Default Car wax has shown up stone chips

I was the infortunate victim of someone that couldn't park their car properly
As a result I would have had no choice but to damage their car to get out of the car parking space, thus leaving the scene of an accident without the owners details
I therefore called the Police, who agreed to attend within the hour
Both officers were shocked and agreed it was "obstructive parking"
A further 30 minutes were allowed for the owner to return, whch they didn't
The vehicle was returned as insured and I was given the registered keepers details
On exiting the space the front nearside of my bumper contacted the ENTIRE offside of this other vehicle, damaging EVERY panel
Thankfully the damage to my car is restriced to the bumper about the size on a small envelope

The other vehicle was black BMW about 4 weeks old from the tax disc
There still hasn't been any contact from the owner

I was going to be quite happy conducting a temporary touchup paint on my car
The car was taken to my local NCRC branch, awaiting approval of the bumper respray
I then obtained approval from them to touchup the damaged area, which I have now done

However, afterwards I decided to wax the bonnet, the finish was excellent
Two days later the bonnet looks like the surface of the moon!
It really does look like it has been sandblasted
I then went back to NCRC and ask them to quote for respraying the bonnet, whilst the car is in for the bumper respray
I have been advised the wings would also need to be done
The quote is £364, and will take them 3 days for all the work

well at the end of the day you get a brand spanking new front end ..so doesn't seem a bad price to me

    Default

That price is INCLUDING the bumper
There is no damage, it's just a simple respray
VX also quoted me, but it was £660 which would also have included replacement retaining bolts on the bumper (seem rather expensive!)

The invoice has then to be sent to my legal protection cover on my fully comp policy for consideration
It needs to be done this way as the Police intend prosecuting the owner of the other vehicle and the court may award this as a cost to be paid by the owner, if not then the policy will pay out
