Default Bored - Fitted Insignia wiper blades

I was in Vauxhall buying a touch-up pen the other day...Was supposed to be less than a fiver but ended up spending over a ton on bits and bobs for the car!!

While i was in there a had a look over the insignia and liked the look of the wiper blades so bought a set for the vectra as the £3 tesco ones i was using looked naff and didn't work properly and generally were utter rubbish in comparison to a proper fitting std blade. The insignia ones are a std blade design but with a re-designed outer housing that looks more modern so i bought a set.

The sizes are the same as the vectra and the fitting is very similar but i had to do a bit of modding to get them to fit.

I had to cut about 6mm off the end of the hoop then squash the hoop to make it smaller. I was a bit weary about hacking away at the wiper arm but i'm glad i did, the fit is perfect and swapping blades out is really easy and they look and perform much better than previous blades i've tried.

Heres a pic of them fitted, i'm going to take them off again and give them a paint up but what do you think?

Very nice mate, did you not consider just buying the Retro fit Vectra Flatblades from VX?

    To the OP

Did you notice they were a touch shorter than the Vec ones.

Vec-c wipers are 24" and 19", the Insignia wipers appear to be 1" shorter, at least mine were when I checked them. ie. 23" and 18"

Dont suppose the small difference would matter much anyway.

    Hi guys.

I didn't know Vauxhall did a retro-fit blade for the vectra but if they are anything like the tesco ones then I really didn't like them. With regard to the blade being shorter I'm not sure as I compared length to the tesco ones and not the original ones. If they are a little shorter then it's not noticeable so shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

I think they cost about £10 each so not the cheapest wiper blades I'm afraid!

Yeah but your 'blade' is only an inch long to begin with so another inch is going to double your size where as my blade is 23" so an extra inch isn't such a big deal. my misses couldn't tell the difference anyway...
