Default any common areas to check for boot area rattles?

not a major one this! But seeing as everything is so solid, new & tight on my car, the boot rattle doing head it!

    1. Ive put card board under the foam thing that holds the jack etc.
    2. Ive padded around the space saver.
    3. The parcel shelf is fine, its not that.
    4. The boot is empty.
    5. The bumper clips, outside under car, where they clip to body work, ive silicone sealed this so no more rattle.

But still, a rattle, going over bumps and uneven roads... could it be the boot lid itself (hatch?)

    Any ideas peeps?

    Cheers

    Mike

Could it be the actual boot catch,( the loop thing) that the boot lid catch hook into.
I had to ( and many others) adjust this. You will need to undo it with a torx screwdriver or torx alen(type)key.
EDIT. Have a read here too.

I bought the allen key type torx keys from halfrauds. They worked a treat on my estate. I don,t know what the catch looks like on the hatchback though.

easy test for this is to drive on a bumpy road where the noise usually occurs - with the boot open -if no noise - it pointing in the right place

if you still have the noise - then its something else im afraid

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

Mine had the same problem, i was convinced it was the boot itself, it turned out to be the 2 rubber "bungs" on inside of the boot (open the boot, turn round and look at the inside of the boot "door") those 2 rubber bungs were not contacting the plastic "mounts" on the actual parcel shelf.

A bit of jiggery pokery and it was all sorted, not a rattle.
