    Question Key for windsurfing?

One for the technical minded individuals. I enjoy going windsurfing but one of the issues if i am buy myself is how to lock the car, and keep the key safe. I know you can get coded key safes that you can hang off your car but what I would like to do something else.

Would it be possible to cut a copy of the key blade that I can use to lock and unlock the car (my wetsuit has a little pocket dedicated for such a key). Are there any issues I should be aware of, immobiliser and such. Can the blade start the car as well?

This is becoming more of an issues as i am down to just one key for the Signum now (apparently lost without trace), so got to look after the remaining one.

    Cheers Steve

Possible though the amount of crashes that i specialise in a punctured lung is probably on the cards if i went for the necklace option. Plus have had chains/string/rope break and or strangulation attempts.
Question really is will just a blade on its own lock and unlock, or do i need the electronics?

Waterproof pouch and buoyancy aid – stylistically that is all wrong. Drowning is an option obviously but so far so good. Getting stuck under the sail is horrible though, especially when you can’t unhook and get away.

I believe you can buy a 'plastic' version of your key... That should open the lock.. then u can get at your key from wherever u hid it in the car...

Or maybe put it in a small treasure box and bury it in the sand under a huge X ...

Yeah my friend has such a safe, i don't like them. Burial in the sand i like, but it can be difficult to find T-shaped palm trees when you need one.

Plastic key, my dads old Merc came with one - maybe i will try and bake one using some Fimo i foulnd whilst looking for the very weel hidden second key.

Yeah a mate of mine has an Astra H with keyless entry and the fob has a little plastic fake key you can use to unlock the car if the keyless stuff fails for some reason.
