I bought mine from a Vx specialist on Ebay, it cost me £65 for the part. Its not a big job for a mechanic to fit so expect to be charged for 1 hour, at an independent that will cost you about £40. So £500 is taking the wee. Admittedly mine was the front hub so was about £15 cheaper to buy but the rear is even easier to fix.

Well it's a bit of an awkward job, but quite straightforward. Wheel and brake caliper off, then caliper bracket and disc off, then you have to get to the four bolts that hold the hub on from behind the hub. These bolts will be pretty tight - I had to use a breaker bar to undo them but there's barely any room to move the breaker bar when you're under there!! One of the bolts is quite obscured as well meaning you have to feel for it rather than have a good view of what you're doing.

The second one is much easier to do once you've done the first.

If it's VX parts they are approx 150 each so thats why the above price may be so high. £59 is that for rears as they are normally about 75 (rears cost more than fronts.)

    How Much??? £500

As you have heard from many already, that is a bit steep even if the garage you went to were to use genuine parts.

I think you should either source the parts and just pay a garage labour or give it a go and tackle it yourself and save 100's pounds.
