Default graese the door hinges or not?

I always did this until recently someone told me that VX do not recommend this any more?
Seems odd to me, surely it can have no detrimental effects?

I don,t grease or oil mine. But if one started to "squeak" I would put some form of lubricant on it.

I'm sure if I remember correctly, the Service book says, don't that lubricating front door hinges on the vectra-C is not necessary.

    Why, I don't know :

Then again, if i had an issue, I would lube em up!!

Makes me laugh when a garage spray grease on the hinges. It doesn't do anything except make a mess. It doesn't penetrate into the hinge pin where the lubriaction would be of most benefit - it just sits on the outside of the hinges.

It's purely a visual aid that the garage use to con you.

I wouldn't ever use copper grease to lubricate anything - it's to prevent things from seizing up, not as a general lubricant. I reckon on parts that are regularly moving copper grease will act like a mild grinding paste.

I would have thought it would be too soft to act like a grinding paste? copper being softer than the steel pins?
