    Default Alarm

    Hi guys

I know this is probably a silly question but how can I test the alarm on my vectra? in my old car if I double locked it the alarm was armed and when something moved inside we had lights and noise. But in my vectra I’m having trouble, also are the front electric windows supposed to shut automatically when the car is double locked?

    thanks

    Ally

I've tested mine (inadvertantly) by locking the car with the windows open in the summer - movement in the car then sets the alarm off -or just stick your arm in the open window - just give the alarm time to arm,

Windows will not auto-close when double-locked unless you have rain sensitive wipers, in which case they close (or are supposed to) when it rains.

You can hold the lock button on the remote to close electric windows (or unlock to open them).

Or unlock the car with the key in the door lock, then open the door.

Another way is to open a window, and then tape a newspaper in the hole that's left. Set the alarm, wait for it to settle, then punch a hole in the newspaper.

Another way is to release the bonnet catch from inside the driver's footwell, lock and alarm the car, and then open the bonnet. The alarm will then go off, as there is a pressure switch in the top left corner of the engine bay, which is triggered on opening the bonnet.

Or lock someone in the car, and alarm the car. The moment they move, the alarm will be triggered by the movement sensor.
