    Default how to play divx , avi on xbox

    anyone aware of a good program to convert divx , avi to wmv so it will play through media center on xbox 360

    look up Vuze, it's mainly used as a bit torrent downloader but it has a feature where you can drag and drop video files on it and it'll convert them and stream them over the network.

    www.avs4you.com have a few programs to convert files, they used to have a specific Xbox one but its been merged into their newer programs now

    Edit: Divx was incorporated into a dashboard update back in 2007, you may need to download the media update which you should be able to find on Marketplace

    dont quite understand why you want to convert...will tversity not play the files ? I play a lot "though" the xbox via usb stick, cutting out media player altogether, xvid & avi play no probs.

    I am the same, transfer onto usb and just play AVI or DIVX. If the codec isn't installed when you first put the USB stick in, the xbox will prompt you anyway and give you the option of downloading it.
