Only the one lights up,there will be a bulb etc in the nearside one,but its not wired up.You can wire it up easily enough if you want. There should be a few threads on here about doing it

You just need to run a wire from the live feed of the right bulb within the cluster connector to the same pin position of the left cluster...

Takes longer to move the trim than to fit the wire....10 mins tops!!

Tech 2 is NOT required...does not affect bulb check control either as long as you don't use LED's

The reason for only have one working (off side/right hand side) is so that you can tell where the closest side of the car to you is. If you have both of them on you can still tell this, but if one then blows it becomes an issue...

Still, I like symmetry and did this on my first car, a 92 Nissan Micra...

    No-one tell Ste though...

Is this the case on all Vectra C's ???

Ours is a 55 reg Facelift Club Hatch and after nearly three years spotted only recently that only one rear fog light working....the offside one....always thought they both lit on the rare occasions I've used 'em...bulbs looked ok when I checked 'em....voltage present at offside fog lamp, but nothing at the nearside....thought it must be a wiring fault, i.e. the nearside cable feed wire had somehow been accidentally 'pulled out' of a wiring connector while I was doing the rear parking sensors earlier this year ....I assumed it would be behing the rear boot trim panel so was going to trace the wiring by removing the boot trim to try and find it when the weather improved...thought it might mean an MOT failure as twin rear fogs are fitted....but based on what's been said earlier, looks like it's never worked...mmmmm!!!!

As far as I am aware, all Vectra C's are fitted with both bulbs, but no wire to the near side / left light cluster fog light position.

I saw this about 15 years ago on a Peugeot van....bulb there, but no wire to the left cluster

Weird way of penny pinching during production..

    Sorry for confusion...
In simple terms...check the left rear light cluster connector block.
There will be one terminal missing...The left fog power feed.
You will need to run a wire from this pin to it's counterpart (same pin location) in the right rear light cluster connector block..

With regard to the trim...I mean all the carpeting and coverings across the rear of the boot / hatch area that you will need to remove or peel-back make a nice tidy job.

or do you mean about the bulb failure check control?
If the bulb fails a warning symbol shows on the dash...this also happens if LED type bulbs are fitted as they have insufficient internal resistance and so the check control sees this as a fault...this is often overcome by fitting an in-line resister.

If you are very new to Vectra C, then you will find that many adaptations to the car require programming by Vauxhall even simple things like fitting electrics to the rear doors, reversing sensors, even changing / upgrading radio display screens etc...

Not all jobs require programming with Vauxhall's "Tech 2" system...just that they don't know this yet!!
You'll find that the regular forum posters have a better knowledge of the Vectra than Vauxhall's own staff.

    I hope that helps.
