    Default Scratch Removal???

Last night some scumbag decided to key my cars boot.

This is the last straw for me and I will not be doing any more work on my car as some will either bump it in the car park then sod off, or will come along and damage it.

This latest 'keying' has not gone through all the paint... just the laquer by the looks of it..

Whats the best fix for it??

Rule of thumb for you mate, if you run your finger nail across it and you can catch it (your finger nail) in the scratch then it will need a respray. If not then you'll ideally need a machine polisher over it with a hard compound. By the looks of it mate it looks a little deep

Someone did something similar to my dads CDTI SRI when we first got it about 2 years ago....about a 12 inch deep scratch in the rear quarter.....sticks out like a sore thumb on black too.....its still there now, I keep filling it with perm marker every few months to make it look less of an eyesore....im looking at about £200+ to have it painted as the entire quarter needs doing and adjacent panels to match!

    Bye bye Vec B

If you don't mind the travel then I'd have a word with donpaul if I where you mate. That quote sounds far too high compared to what he did for me

    Im going to cry

Theres no way i can afford to get it done..

I'll get some Meguirs scratch x and see how much i can 'mask' it

If i ever catch them im going to rip their :cesnored: arms off so they can never do it a :cesnored: again..

P.S I think this is the most I've used the icon EVER!!

Don't know if this would actually work, but could you not fill it with a touch up pen... then machine over it to smooth it all out, would make it better..?

Tried that in the past mate didn't work too well. Either the paint dries too quick and it becomes too hard or it's not quite set and i've ruined one of my pads
