head gasket on vectra c 1.8 sri

hi guys, firstly i noticed a very bad smell coming throught vents on the car, never thought much of it until a few days later it continued when i noticed smoke coming from engine bay, checked it out and there was oil leaking from cylinder head so i then checked the water (full of oil) and checked the oil(full of gunk) the car was still running perfectly no over heating, blowing out hot air and no smoke from exhaust and no loss of power, i no its the head gasket however im wondering if it could be a crack in the cyclinder head because i havnt come across oil leaking from the head onto the exhaust before, any1 think it could be cracked head?? cheers

Tbh Danny best thing for you to do is whip the head off or get someone to do it for you (local garage or friend) and get the head pressure tested, you should do this anyway when changing a head gasket.
This is what i would do, head gaskets on the 1.8 are not that bad to do if you are handy with the spanners.
