    Default i wonder..

hi guys, i checked my service book today and their is only a tick for the fuel filter change at 20k mile service, i have it serviced rite upto 100k (ive only had it 2 month) but in the recent once its just a stamp? so i dont know whats been changed! i presume the oil was change but as some of you know im getting por mpg, and im wondering if because i changed my air filter to a courtney and done the air box mod would that effect mpg? and would the fuel filter not being changed recently effect this?
my car dosent smoke that i notice and i dont have any error codes according to my code reader..

im planning on getting my car remapped very soon and the guy stated he will tech2 it first to check for issues foc, but i asked vauxhall to update my ecu software tos ee if this helps and they want £65 to do it, is it worth getting this before the remap or will the remap sort anything that the new ecu would do anyway?

the car is starting to really ennoy me, any suggestions lads?

Any remap will over-write a software update so it's really £65 wasted.
With respect to the service book, sometimes the dealers forget to tick the relevant boxes, I've had to remind them more than once.
Best to check the receipt, see what they've billed you for.
Not having the fuel filter changed will normally end with lack of power rather than poor economy.
Normally the fuel box mod and a high flow filter can improve mpg, however if you are nailing the throttle then obviously mpg will reduce, you dont get something for nothing.

oh rite i wasnt sure if a remap would over write it or not, thanks for clearing tht up! as for receipts.. their isnt any! its an ex company car, and with regards to the Air filter, i rarley take the revs to 3k never mind nail it! put it this way, driving very behaved i have done 80mile and showing 100 remaining from 20ltrs of v-power going to work and back, no more than 40mpg showing on the display over average. im racking my brains!

Have you worked your mpg out for yourself??? The computer may be wrong. I don't have an mpg computer, but i always work mine out by the amount of fuel i fill it up with, as i always brim it at the station. i.e: 600 miles 50 litres of Diesel. Divide 50 by 4.5 (gives you gallons). = 11.11111. 600 Divided 11.11111 = 54.0000054. So your average is 54 mpg's. try it out. There may be a prolem with your on board mpg calculator.

if you have stamps in the service book - go to the "dealer" in question and ask them to print off the service history for you - you will get an invoice for each service completed and will be able to clearly see the items that were or indeed not replaced

amazing invention - the telephone /fax machine

give em a call and ask for them to pop the service history on an email
    fax or even snail mail
