    confused Vectra 2.6 Diagnostic codes P0170 & P0173 Found

    can someone give me a little help with these codes please as the diagnostic shows the following:

    P0170 Fuel Trim Bank 1
    P0173 Fuel Trim Malfunction Bank 2

    The engine omissions light has been reset and the car runs fine no loss of performance,but after 350 miles the light has come back on and the same faults are listed. Can anybody help please about how to sort this problem.

    Firstly check for any vacuum leaks, if there are none, you could need a new mass airflow meter...

    According auto data

    Intake leak, AIR system, Fuel pressure/pump, Injetor(s), EVAP canister purge valve, HO2S

    i would check the EVAP canister purge valve. this is behind the air filter with 2 hoses. check for leaks.

    Then check the HO2S (heated oxygen sensor) in each downpipe make sure the wires look ok, to behonest i would not expect them both to have gone down and if one had then only one bank would be playing up.
