    Default Loose Gear Knob

A quickie for you experts, my gear knob appears to be loose movement up and down which makes a clicking noise when pressed, but only when the weather is warm, on a coldish day its ok.

How are they fixed if its glued on that would make some sense of when the weather has warmed up?

    Any ideas or suggestions?

Dont do what I did and replace it with an aftermarket jobby. It spoils the look. If its badly worn or the grip inside the gear knob is worn then get a new one.

Yep my previous 2.2 an o5 plate had this fault.
Simple fix,put a little and i mean a little superglue inside the handle at the top, don't get it down the edges,THEN HIT IT AS HARD AS YOU BL88DY CAN BACK ON!!

    Mine never came of again........
Which is great because the first time it did was going into fifth on the outside lane on the M5

Got mine fixed under warranty - VX dealer stuck loads of gooey black stuff inside the knob and told me to let it set for a day or so. As it was a Friday i did just that and left the car all weekend, now the knob is stuck on and no further probs at all.
