    Default 3" air-intake for 2.0t - well worth it

    Did a few mods to my 2.0 turbo air-intake:

    - 3" flexi duct from the grill
    - airbox mod and K&N panelfilter
    - 3" alloy intaketube replacement from MAF to turbo

    I should have done it all much earlier. The 3" replacement tube gives the turbo a lot more boost in high revs, it is definitely noticeable. Cheap and easy to put together yourself.. All you need is:
    - a 90degree 3" alloy bend
    - 2 mounts for vacuum pipes
    - some epoxy glue or something else to fit the mounts
    - 3" silicone coupler
    - a 90degree 3"->2.5" silicone reducehose

    cut the alloy bend to fit, drill 2 holes for the vacuum hoses, attach them with glue or other method of your choise, finally fit in with the silicone couplers. recommended.

    Nice work mate. You could remove the MAF sensor from its housing, drill a hole in your ally tubing and pop it in there, this way you get rid of the smaller MAF pipework.

    i was thinking the same, but the 3" alloy pipe you could get your local powerflow dealer to make one up for you. It's the other parts i'm struggling with. I'm gonna have a look on Ebay.

    I got mine from a local finnish autoparts dealer. The vacuumhose mounts and the flexiduct are from a hardware store. I'm pretty sure you can find the stuff just about anywhere, but if youre struggling have a look on ebay.. for example this shop:

    thickness of the alloy pipe wall is approx 1.5mm. I'm sure you can use almost any kind of pipe. I don't know about z22se/yh, sorry.
