Steering Rack Damage

Hello, when i bought the vectra it had a magic tree hanging from the indicator stalk which I presume hadn't been there too long as it still smells fresh. Once I removed it I noticed it had bubbled the lining on the plastic that is below the indicator stalk. After rubbing away all the messy rubber sort of lining I've been left with a darker rougher sort of plastic? Is there anyway to get this repaired?

I did the same on ym dad's Vec mate....there is a long thread about this somewhere from some time ago, only way to get rid of that bit is to replace that bit of cowling.

I have just left it, doesnt bother me when im driving it, only when sat in passenger seat!

Would an adjustable vectra 03 cowling fit a facelift 06 vectra? And is it a big job to replace? I'm a perfectionist think it would irritate me too much lol.

Should be same mate....just make sure you get the right colour! As far as I am aware, all vec-C's have adjustable steering!

Replaced the bottom half and all fixed so a happy chappy again.
