    Default home brewing

Thinking of trying home brewing out. Just wondering if anyone on here does it and if they have any tips and/or recommendations on getting started.

Making your brews can be a worthwhile hobby, and is great fun too.

As Ed's dad stated making sure everything is 100% clean is most important.

I had a bash at it myself many years ago, as my own dad did too, in the days before many brewing kits came onto the market.

I tried everything from beers to my own champagne...LOL

One of the most important things is storing it in the right place, and in the right sort of bottles and containers.

I used corked bottles in those days, and it was quite common for my wife and I to hear bottles exploding quite loudly in the middle of the night in our cellar which we had at the time..LOL

Nowadays, there are lots of cheap kits available to make the job more easy, resulting in a more pleasing and sucessful result.

Do a search on google and you will find many sites dedicated to this subject and well worth a good read.

Good luck with it matey, make sure you get someone else to do the initial tasting..

Its great mate. I made a bit of wine a few years back it was good. You can make wine from owt as well, I tried coffee, blackberries, Ribena, Elderberries, cranberries and the best was plum and damson wine. Most kits you buy are good quality and the worst part about it is waiting, the best is tasting!!! Happy brewing

The best bit of wine making was getting high on Sodium Metabisulphate. One of the chemical to scrupulously clean your equipment!!!!
