tech 2 to pc

Just been looking at EPC and Service disks, one bloke is saying the his disks contain the software to look at and progrm the tech 2 module.
Is this posible using a home pc?
what lead is required?
will my 1.8ls (52) be tech 2 or tech 1?
Are the disks any good?

Don't mess with it mate, it's really not worth it. Vx only charge about £30 - £40 anyway I believe.

Just my personal opinion.

The EPC/TIS software does indeed contain a utility to talk to the various Tech 2 units, but the snag being that you obviously need to have one of those units and they don't come cheap!!!

Whilst you may have access to the EPC/TIS software you can forget about using it on your car unless you get yourself one of the Tech 2 units.

Oh, and of course we all know that the EPC/TIS software is for dealers only and that private individuals don't have it themselves!

Therefore any questions relating to the software itself, it's availability, using it etc. are not really for posting on the forum!

I purchased one thinking it would be handy to have, bit dissapointed as all I can do is look at Vauxhall labour times. bit of a waste really.

Not sure what you've got but TIS contains information telling you how to remove/replace parts on the car from trim through to engines, not to mention the Field Remedies for fixing known problems.

EPC is the parts section with exploded diagrams.
