Just been driving home, car struggled to start. Just as I got home it conked out and has no power. No ignition lights no power. We tried another battery on it and the same thing. Any ideas? I need the car for work 2nite!

do all the lights come on the dash? i.e. normal start up PRIOR to turning over?
could be the alternator or could be no 3 injector (as per threads and searches)
can you give any more info - fuel level - last filled up at
lack of power - any warning lights on?
sorry to be vauge but the more infor you give us the better for feedback and diagnosis

Ok the car was idling slightly higher than normal, the car struggled to start at first. When i was turning into my street the power steering went slightly heavy and as I was reversing the car conked out everything went off and the rpm needle fuel guage and temp guage froze were they are. Its as tho someone took the battery out.

Theres nearly a full tank of fuel and prior to starting it up leaving to go home it was ok but as i turned it over it sounded a bit like it was struggling to start.
check your fuses (fe7) may be blown - and caused by a wiring chaffe in the engine bay
if the fuse IS blown then it would be the place to start

When my alternator packed in, first symptom was the power steering failing and the revs at idle increased, sounds like yours has gone the same way unfortunately.
Could a fuse really cause this?
Someone said it could be ecu. Is that true?
