Gooly = Someone from Goole. i use to live in Selby and the 2 don't mix well!!!
Ouse = the horrible river that flows round goole (Pity it don't fill it in!!!)
Fookin = a nicer way of swearing!!! :-)
hope that clears it up for ya fingers
i'm suprised a Gooly managed to post an item on ebay. they have trouble walking and chewing gum!!! its probably nicked anyway. Goole is like looking at an english town after the bomb has been dropped.
so whos gonna ring him and pretend to be steve from newcastle so that he ends the auction?
The problem is with ebay is it's buyer looking for the cheapest price and sellers looking for the highest price. So already there is a conflict.
There is a gentlemans agreement in auctions that is that if there is no reserve, you sell it for the highest bid price. So he should be a gentleman and honour that, but it sounds like your dealing with a numpty dumpty who probably nicked the bike anyway!!
He should have put on a £80 reserve on the listing, the problem with this is nobody wants to bid; because the potential buyer knows you want to clear at least £80 on it. If the potential bidder is looking for a bargain, he is put off of bidding, as like you, are probably looking to get a bargain for £65 or under.
I never list anything with a reserve, as it does put bidders off. I've been bitten a few times but more than rewarded on other listings because if something is desirable, the last minute bids push the price right up. This is because people want the item and since they've been bidding for it from 99p, they get the fever and just bid for it!
All you can do bud is put it down to experience, report him to Ebay, leave some disgusting feedback and that's it.
The kids disappointment is the hardest thing to bear!
PMSL at some of the replies, I was really pee'd off last night when I saw what he'd done. He's at least replied to me & told me he's been offered £100 for it, lol. Negative feedback left, would you deal with someone with -1 feedback.
My lads got another bike spotted now & it's a lot closer so can bid a little higher as it won't cost so much in fuel to collect it.
