    Default Get Maxxis Tyres?

    Hi,

Needed to get 4 new tyres :

Should I go for these as money is tight? (I have heard some good ish reviews on them, they even beat the Pirelli P7)

    4x 215/50/ r17 91w

    Maxxis Ma-Z1

For a Vectra C SRI (56 plate) - Doing mainly steady driving, (as I have a 15 week old baby onboard) using motorways a few times a month, but mainly A+B roads Av. 7-10K miles a year.

I would like some top end tyres but not got the money, so thought these would do for 1-2 years, while I save up for some other ones.

    All thoughts welcome

    Cheer

If moneys tight and your not wanting to drive the car to its limits any budget tyre will do the job. I only pay £40 a tyre for my 2.0 DTi 215/55/R16 (i think) and only toodle about as i too have a baby on board. I've had no probs with them what so ever and as they're budget tyres they are usually made out of a hard compound rubber that lasts for ages. On my old Vec B 2.0 DTi I got 12K out of the fronts and 20K out of the rears as i can't be bothered moving tyres front to back.
The only problem i have had was when i had to race to the hospital. i was sliding round all the roundabouts and the ABS was kicking in as i braked stupidly hard at junctions etc. The tyres gave lots of feed back so it was easy to correct and control the slides but i was going way quicker than i drive under normal circumstances and could of given Button a run for his money!! LOL

I had to replace all 4 and like you couldnt afford branded tyres, read alot of webpages and they seem to get good reviews so thought i would try them, and i am very pleased
