I like a good priced tyre, but am very careful and don't generally get budget tyres.

However, on one occassion I needed 4 new tyres for the car to pass the MoT. I'd left things until the last moment, and it was Christmas. I went to my local tyre fitter and the only tyres (other than Goodyear NCT) he had in stock were Triangle.

I had these x4 Triangles (can't remember what model - 'Talon' rings a bell) put on the car, and they were great tyres. Maybe I was lucky, but they held the road well, wore well, and and gave me no problems. I think I payed about £50 for mine - that's a good price you've got there.

I spoke to the tyre fitter, and his comments were that all tyres on the market have to pass certain standards tests, so none are dangerous. He said that they are not going to handle as well as the best, and they may not ride as smooth or wear as well, or even use more fuel - but are not exactly likely to blow out more than the next tyre.

This guy said that it was all in the tread, and these budget tyres are just using a less advanced tread (possibly something that was used on premium tyre a few years ago).

What sizes are these...17"..? If so, what about Kumho..?

Of the list, I have only had Federal and they were awful, very noisy indeed and all round grip was just "ok".

Personal opinion I admit, but when I had them on mine in the dry the didn't grip very well and in the wet were dangerous. They were fun for loosing the back end or drifting the front out. I may have been unlucky and around town there probably ok, but I wasn't going to risk them on the autobahn
