Default Horrid FLAT SPOT between 1-2k RPM.HELP!

    Chaps,

This is an ongoing problem im trying to resolve with my dad's CDTI 150 SRI. I have repalced the EGR valve for a second hand unit which has apparently been re-worked by Vx (has a hole in the solenoid side), and I have previously cleaned the old EGR Valve and the inlet manifold and boost sensor.

The EGR valve, Boost Sensor and Swirl valve have all been repalced by Vx 2 years ago and the car is only just touching 27k from new (55/2005).

I have also checked the swirl bar and it is happily spinning all 4 injector's when rev'd.....

............the problem I am getting is a horrible horrible flat spot between 1-2k RPM. It just doesnt seem to want to shift or is very relucatant, but once im over 2k RPM, its right as rain!

I had the same'ish problem with the old EGR Valve and same with this, everything else seems in order too.....what next?

THIS ONLY happens during take off.....if I take off an rev over 2k RPM, its good and much better, but anything below and I feel a HUGE LAG!!
Its a bit as when im at the lights, I almost get the feeling that the chap next to me in a 1 litre Micra Tempest is going embarass me, OR he thinks I want to race him.

It feels a though it will stall if it dont get some proper high rev'ing!

I have a similar issue with my V6 and some have suggested it could be a faulty air flow sensor...hmmm

The turbo changes the inlet size with the variable vanes to provide constant boost over a longer rev range. They can become full of rubbish and stick in one place, therefor acting like turbos of old. Loads of lag until they spool up.

    I think <- my disclaimer!

BTW, K&N forsale in the forsale section
