    Default Vec Bulbs

    Heres one for you...

I was toyin with either Osram or phillips bulbs. In the end I got some phillips bulbs only to remove what I assumed was standard VX bulbs only to find they had osram written on the rear of them !!!!!!

Its a 58 plate car, prev owner was worcester VX and I think perhaps a demo car so surely the bulbs would not have been changed ???

Thing is, they might just be ordinary/standard Osram bulbs. I don,t think you will ever know. I have Osram nightbreakers in mine, they too have Osram writen on them. But not nighbreaker though. I suppose you can try both sets for a while to compare and see which you prefere.

I believe VX/Opel have used Osram bulbs, They were Osrams that were on my old Zafira and first vec years ago but later models were mostly fitted with Philips Premuim bulbs. Depends what deals they can get with the companies I suppose.

I had the Philips +80 Extremes on the H7 Dipped lamps on my Vec-c and Vision Plus for the H1 mainbeams. Use same bulbs on my Insignia, and they seem very good.
I also tried a set of Philips Blue vision, but IMO I think the Vision Plus one's are slightly better. Blue Vision were whiter, but not necessarilly brigher. Nightbreakers are very good too but overall life expectancy may be shorter than the Philips according to a couple of sites, unsure how true that is.
