    Default cd 70

14 days out of warranty the CD70 unit has failed. Initially i thought it was just a blown fuse but now it appears £1134 is needed to replace the whole unit...........pretty expensive fuse! Vauxhall appear to be not interested in replacing the unit a a measure of goodwill. Are these units repairable and has anyone used a local company (Herts) to do such work?
Shame as the Elite v6 2.8T estate is otherwise a great machine but it seems so quiet without the sat nav cd or radio working!!!

Dont forget sale of goods act.....fit for purpose and all that.

IMO, 1.2k's worth of electrical goods failing 2 weeks out of warrantly cannot be conisdered as fit for purpose.

Your dealer is probably not pushing Vauxhall hard enough. You need to approach directly via customer services.

Hi mate sorry to hear about your cd70 just a long shot mate when you say you tried the fuse did you also pull out the headunit and check the 15amp fuse at the rear just above the quadlock attachment as i had this problem once too and this was to blame??

Thanks guys - yeh Ive written to Vauxhall myself as quite honestly it isnt good enough. Dealer reported they had tried all the relevent fuses but one keeps popping; the one connected with the cd drive apparently. Apparently all the dealer can do is apply for permission to replace the unit under 'warranty' online; no personal contact at all, but the computer said no!
