Felipe Massa F1 accident :(

Just seem this posted in one of my chat rooms, he got hit on the head by a broken spring off of Ruben barrichello's car. Apparently hes had a life threatening operation carried out but is now stable.. Dont really like him but hope he recovers ok, as it will be another loss to F1

damn, something has to change with these cars now. Surtees died last week and now this. Some sort of screen for the drivers is the only way to prevent it I suppose.

only thing i can think of is an 'enclosed' cabin, the wheels on F1 are already teathered (sp?)

You cant put a lid on an F1 car as it changes the Formula and would no longer be classed as F1. It was a freak accident, if a fan through a canned drink into oncoming traffic at that speed the outcome would have been the same.

He's a great driver Dean, I can't say what he's like as a man, but I've never heard any bad of him, think this will be the last of him though, can't see him ever being good enough to return to the scene after that, real lucky he's still with us, if it'd been something heavier he'd be in the box now.
