    Default Tyres

    I currently have 225/45 R18 95Y on my car. 05 Sri Vec.

These are quite expensive to change, can another size be put on which may be cheaper

    Cheers

    Is that size right? 225/15/18.

    Aah, that's better! lol

I can't see any other size of 18 listed in the VX manual - just the 225/45's. But I'm sure somebody else will have fitted a different size.......

you can try 235/40 18 although i actually use 225/40 18 which is actually closer to the orginal 17" diameter than the vauxhall tyre 225/45 18, which is bizare. Loads more options for tyre choice too.

tyre options work out like this

    17" sri alloy 215/50 17 = 647mm dia
    18" factory 225/45 18 = 660mm dia
    225/40 18 aftermarket = 637mm dia
    235/40 18 aftermarket = 669mm dia

Maybe the gearing is tech2 set for the factory 18's? in which case the 235/40 might be an option. Going from factory 17s to 18's, the 225/40 18 looks the nearest choice.

I have factory 18's fitted, so 235/40 18 would be better for me. Are they likely to be cheaper than the 225/45 18 ?

ive got 225/40/18 on mine, they came withthe wheels but upon looking them up they are about £65 inc delivery to you. mine are Nankang NS2, not one i would choose but they get a very good write up and i have no complaints about mine after 2 months of driving on them
